Product Builder - Fintech

As a Product Builder in the Acquiring domain, you'll take end-to-end ownership of initiatives:

• Framing the problem in a short design document
• Prototyping a solution
• Demoing to peers and stakeholders
• Shipping to production
• Staying close enough to see whether it actually helped

The surface area is broad:

• Payment acceptance (authorization, capture, refunds, disputes)
• The payment-facilitator layer (sub-merchant data, identifiers, card scheme compliance)
• Acceptance expansion across markets
• Reporting into our ledger

You’ll work in a small domain team with no management layer in between. The tribe's Product Manager and Staff Engineer help with direction where relevant, but you won't be waiting for it. You'll set scope, run experiments, make calls, and run what you build.

What You Would Do

• Take end-to-end ownership of product initiatives in Acquiring: defining the problem, prototyping the solution, shipping to production, and iterating based on real customer feedback.
• Design and implement the systems that power card and alternative payment acceptance, the payment-facilitator layer, and reporting to ledger.
• Leverage AI to ship faster, set the standard for how it is used in the development process across the tribe, and build reusable approaches that accelerate other domains.
• Establish reusable patterns and frameworks that accelerate the work of other Product Builders, and coach those who want to develop in this direction.

What You Would Bring

• Seven or more years delivering customer-facing software with measurable business outcomes, including large-scale initiatives across functions, systems, or product areas.
• Hands-on experience using modern AI tooling such as Claude, Cursor, or agent frameworks as a core part of how you build, with enough understanding to make sound engineering decisions.
• Experience integrating a payment service provider or acquirer at scale: APIs, webhooks, idempotency, and reconciliation.
• Strong product instincts: you care about the problem as much as the implementation, and you’ve made product calls without waiting on a dedicated Product Manager or Designer.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a startup, founder or scale-up environment.
• Working knowledge of the card payment lifecycle: 3DS/SCA, IC++ pricing, chargebacks and PCI DSS scope.
• Experience in a regulated financial environment (EMI, payment institution): audit trails, PII handling.

Salary Information

• Spain: €57,000—€90,500 EUR
• Czechia: 1,191,500 Kč—2,042,000 Kč CZK
• UK: £62,500—£106,500 GBP
