Accountabilities

  • Partner with technical leadership and engineering teammates to prioritize initiatives and execute against the product roadmap.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and own complex software features and components across the full stack.
  • Build robust, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested applications that support the growth of the platform.
  • Shape and evolve system architecture, making sound technical decisions for scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Establish and promote engineering best practices, development standards, and effective technical processes.
  • Help build a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture through technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate closely with Design and Operations teams to identify opportunities for continuous product and engineering improvements.
  • Work with executives and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business strategy and requirements into practical technical solutions and deliverables.
  • Take ownership of technical challenges and drive initiatives from initial design through production operation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years contributing to system design or software architecture.
  • Strong full-stack engineering expertise with TypeScript and JavaScript, including frontend development with React and backend development with Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery, including designing, deploying, and operating scalable cloud services.
  • Strong experience modeling, querying, and optimizing MongoDB schemas for performance and scalability.
  • Demonstrated discipline around unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Proven staff-level technical leadership, including architecture ownership, mentoring engineers, and improving overall engineering effectiveness.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to define technical strategy, clarify requirements, and translate business objectives into high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a senior individual-contributor career path rather than transitioning into an executive or people-management role in the near term.
  • Demonstrated history of stable and sustained tenure with previous employers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, technical judgment, ownership, and ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment.
