RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, and requirements allocation for complex cloud and hybrid environments.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Conduct technical trade studies evaluating cost, risk, performance, security, and lifecycle supportability.
• Lead development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Architect, deploy, and integrate cloud-native applications and supporting services.
• Design and support containerized platforms using Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.
• Optimize system availability, performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed environments.
• Implement and oversee security best practices (IAM, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, compliance).
• Support system integration, verification, validation, testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Lead cloud modernization initiatives, including legacy system migration and cloud-native adoption.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, leadership, customers, and external partners/vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and design review support to junior/mid-level engineers.
• Influence engineering standards, DevOps/DevSecOps practices, and technical processes.
• Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded.
• Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area.
• Participate in growth efforts as requested.
• Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction.
• Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meetings and Storytime (with camera on).
• Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program.
• Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.
• Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with at least 8 years of experience in cloud architecture or related technical fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Considered an emerging authority with strong technical expertise in cloud architecture.
• Functional knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, PowerShell or other similar languages.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level cloud solutions.
• Ability to develop technical solutions to complex architectural challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture efforts and guide technical teams.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Expert-level experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Strong experience with IaC, automation, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, and cloud security.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, Go, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• At least one cloud certification.
• DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level III certification.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Multiple cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud).
• Experience with version control tools (e.g. Git), CI/CD (e.g. Gitlab, Jenkins), vulnerability scanning tools (SCC, OpenSCAP, ACAS), code scanning tools (Fortify), Container scanning tools (Twistlock), container host and management tools (docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience designing secure enterprise cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud service models.
• Experience supporting federal or DoD cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
