Senior Backend Engineer @ Incogni — Vaga Vilnius

Responsibilities

Design, build, and evolve high-traffic, business-critical backend services with a focus on scalability and reliability.
Lead and influence architectural decisions — from domain modeling and service boundaries to infrastructure and deployment strategies.
Drive the evolution of our next-generation service platform together with senior and lead engineers.
Identify system bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements to support long-term growth.
Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end, from design to production.
Write clean, well-tested code while raising engineering standards across the team.

Strong experience as a backend or software engineer building production systems.
Solid understanding of software design principles, service-oriented architecture, and API design.
Experience building application backends, internal platforms, or service ecosystems.
Confidence working with different programming languages and stacks, and picking the right tool for the problem.
Experience working with databases, messaging systems, and distributed components.
Comfort participating in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.

Have experience building or scaling platforms that serve millions of requests.
Worked with multiple backend languages or ecosystems (for example, PHP, Go, Node.js, or others).
Designed systems with reliability, observability, and operational concerns in mind.
